How you can help Save Them Tapes!
If you’d like to help <<rewind WV save and preserve vintage TV, there are two ways to contribute:
- Make a monetary donation. One-hundred percent of any monetary donation received through Paypal would be used to support the cause by funding the upkeep of functional video equipment, purchase of necessary supplies such as recordable DVD discs, tape storage, web hosting and — most importantly — the acquisition of old video tapes from sources such as yard sales, thrift stores and flea markets.

- Share your old videotapes. The best way you can help <<rewind WV preserve old TV recordings is by sharing any that may be in your possession. Tapes given as a donation are always appreciated — if they’re unwanted, we’d be glad to take them off your hands. But we are open to purchasing tapes as well, dependent on quantity, physical quality and contents. If you are in possession of old footage, but don’t want to give up your tapes, we can also make digital copies for preservation and return your originals afterwards. Tapes being shared should meet the following criteria:
- They were tapes used for home television recording.
- Either VHS or Beta format.
- The older the tapes/content, the better!
- Content may include pretty much anything recorded from TV: Cartoons, sitcoms, sporting events, newscasts, soap operas, game shows, movies, talk shows, etc.
- Recordings should be from original broadcasts, preferably with commercial breaks intact (Recordings from sources such as HBO where no commercials are present, or recordings where commercials were eliminated are not desired.)
- Preferably no tapes recorded after 1992 at this time, but newer tapes may be considered, dependent on potential historic value (such as an important local news event, for example).
